Static magnetic and spin wave properties of square lattices of permalloy micron dots with thicknesses of 500 Å and 1000 Å and with varying dot separations have been investigated. A magnetic fourfold anisotropy was found for the lattice with dot diameters of 1 micrometer and a dot separation of 0.1 micrometer. The anisotropy is attributed to an anisotropic dipole-dipole interaction between magnetically unsaturated parts of the dots. The anisotropy strength (order of 100000 erg/cm^3 ) decreases with increasing in-plane applied magnetic field.
Static magnetic and spin wave properties of square lattices of permalloy micron dots with thicknesses of 500 Å and 1000 Å and with varying dot separations have been investigated. The spin wave frequencies can be well described taking into account the demagnetization factor of each single dot. A magnetic four-fold anisotropy was found for the lattice with dot diameters of 1 micrometer and a dot separation of 0.1 micrometer. The anisotropy is attributed to an anisotropic dipole-dipole interaction between magnetically unsaturated parts of the dots. The anisotropy strength (order of 100000 erg/cm^3 ) decreases with increasing in-plane applied magnetic field.
Iterative methods to solve linear equation systems are widely used in computational physics, engineering and many areas of applied mathematics. In recent works, performance improvements have been achieved based on modifications of several classes of iterative algorithms by various research communities driven by different perspectives and applications. This note presents a brief analysis of conventional and unifying perspectives by highlighting relations between several well-known iterative methods to solve linear equation systems and explicit Euler approximations of the associated parabolic regularized equations. Special cases of equivalence and general relations between different iterative methods such as Jacobi iterations, Richardson iterations, Steepest Descent and Quasi-Newton methods are shown and discussed. The results and discussion extend the conventional perspectives on these iterative methods and give way to intuitive physical interpretations and analogies. The accessibly presented relations give complementary educational insights and aim to inspire transdisciplinary developments of new iterative methods, solvers and preconditioners.
Within this work, we report the results of nuclear inelastic scattering experiments of the low-spin phase of the iron(II) mononuclear SCO complex Fe[HBpz3]2 and density functional theory based calculations performed on a model molecule of the complex. We show that the calculated partial density of vibrational states based on the structure of a single iron(II) center which is linked by three pyrazole rings to borat is in good accordance with the experimentally obtained 57Fe-pDOS and assign the molecular vibrations to the prominent optical phonons.
